Chile's extraordinary geographical layout
gives is a huge variety of contrasting landscapes. Over its 2700
miles of length, it stretches from sterile and barren tropical
desert in the North, through lush temperate and sub-tropical
river valleys and forests to windswept subantarctic islands in
the far south. It also owns Easter Island, the most remote
inhabited island on Earth.
Generally better developed than its
neighbours, Chile has an excellent tourism infrastructure
offering visitors high levels of accommodation and service
throughout the country.
