IGUAZU FALLS

Spanning the border between Argentina and Brazil, the Iguazu Falls (or Foz do Iguazu, in Portuguese) are hailed by many as the most spectacular on Earth.

5000 cubic metres of water plunge over the kilometre long lip every second creating a sight of unrivalled power and beauty.

The falls sit within a 55,000 hectare National Park of beautiful sub tropical rainforest that is home to a stunning array of flora and fauna. It is an UNESCO World Natural Heritage site.

Generally you would spend two days at the falls. On the first day visit the Argentinean side of the falls, where on hundreds of metres of walkways you can walk right along the lip of the falls where you can hear the roar in your ears and the fine mist on your face. You also pass through the stunning forested national park around the falls. You will see a wide variety of animals and birds.

From the Brazilian side you can take in the panoramic view of the falls, including the Garganta del Diablo (the Devil's Throat) - the most ferocious epicentre of the falls, which creates a tower of mist that can be seen for miles above the forest canopy.

Also from the Brazilian side you can take a boat trip in inflatable speed boats up the narrow and fast flowing river right to the base of the falls. It is an exciting ride and you will get wet!

It is also possible to take a helicopter flight over the falls area for a birds eye view that you will never forget.

The falls are easily explored alone from the nearby hotels, but we usually arrange a local bi-lingual guide for you so that you maximise your time and enjoy the experience to the maximum.
